Baker & McKenzie's LATAX Conference has become the key professional development and networking event for law and tax experts with business interests in Latin America. This is a unique opportunity to learn from a truly regional faculty of advisors working with international clients from around the world. This year the conference will focus on the new tax planning, transfer pricing and dispute resolution opportunities. Baker & McKenzie practitioners from Latin America and around the world will share their recent experience and strategies involving repatriation of foreign earnings, domestic, international, and state and local tax planning, intercompany pricing and tax litigation techniques in a still volatile economic environment. This year's conference will consist mainly of plenary and breakout sessions especially designed to permit in-depth discussion on strategic planning and tax structuring opportunities. We have designed the agenda with a view to conducting an intensive discussion-training program. Our specific objective is to provide our clients and friends with detailed guidelines as to how to structure and implement planning ideas within the boundaries of the law. We have again specifically designed this year's program to be of interest and useful to both new attendees and to those who have attended one or more of our tax conferences in the past. We believe that the program will be particularly useful for in-house counsel, tax directors, accountants, economists and those who hold management positions within the companies. The regular cost of attending the conference is US$ 875 and includes conference materials, refreshments and cocktail on Wednesday and refreshments, luncheon on Thursday. Discounts will apply for early bird registrations (before February 10, 2010), as well as where there are three or more delegates attending from an individual company (for additional information please go to Register Now). We are pleased to offer a limited number of attendees the possibility of our supplemental one-to-one meetings on Friday, March 12, 2010. These meetings are designed to allow our clients and friends to discuss whatever issues they would like to raise during a one-hour session. During the last three conferences, more than 75 one-to-one meetings took place. We would like to increase the number this year. Alternatively, in cases where our agendas do not allow meetings to take place on Friday, we will make every effort to accommodate a session on Wednesday or Thursday.
